The German painter and graphic artist Eugen Neell (1905 Albstadt-Ebingen to 1994 Albstadt), first undertook a study trip to Scandinavia.  There, he was a pupil at the private art school of Carl Larsson and Bergren. 

The artist studied at the Munich Academy from 1934-37 under Karl Caspar, Max Dörner and Max Mayrshofer.  He also shared a studio with Friedrich Kunitzer (1907-1998) in Munich.  From 1937, the artist did freelance work in Albstadt-Lautlingen, and from 1946 in Wiesbaden-Dotzheim,
